Railroad Engine

All Aboard the Museum of Agriculture and History — It’s not every day that a full-sized, original train engine is donated to your organization. But that was exactly what occurred recently at the Museum of Agriculture and History when Gulf & Ohio Railways, Inc. donated a fully restored, diesel powered train engine to Scotland County Historical Properties, the organization that manages the museum.

The donated engine was one of many used by the Laurinburg & Southern Railroad until its retirement in the 1980s, when it operated along a route that took it north as far as Raeford and southward through Wagram and Laurinburg to Johns Station.
